Stuart Dingle and Helen Dawson secure acquittals in alleged football violence trial

Stuart Dingle and Helen Dawson successfully secured the acquittals of their defendants, following submissions that there was no case for the defendants to answer.

Stuart and Helen represented four Reading Football Club supporters, who were alleged, as part of a larger group, to have engage d in violence and disorder outside Reading train station. The entirety of the incident was captured on CCTV and several of the defendants were known to the Police as being ‘Football Risk’ supporters. Stuart and Helen successfully argued that the case should be dismissed against all defendants, due to flawed charging and legal errors on behalf of the Crown.

Helen and Stuart were instructed by Melanie Cooke of Football Law Associates.
