Kyri represented ST, who was charged with possession of an ‘ammunition supermarket’ of 17 different types of ammunition, including expanding bullets and hollow point ammunition, as well as sniper rifle ammunition together with more mundane bullets. The items were stored at the address of ST’s cousin with ST’s DNA on much of the packaging. After cross-examination of the Crown’s DNA expert and police officers, Kyri made a successful submission of no case to answer. The co-defendant, having pleaded guilty, was sentenced to 6 1/2 years imprisonment.
