Joseph Carr represented one of four defendants charged with conspiracy to convert criminal property between 2016 and 2019.
It was alleged that over the course of several years each defendant deposited the cash proceeds of class A drug trafficking into various bank accounts, which was subsequently ‘layered’ through inter-account transfers, with sums thereafter invested into shares for vintage wine and precious metals.
Following a four-week trial at Maidstone Crown Court the jury returned a unanimous not guilty verdict for Joseph’s client and one other defendant.
