Following a trial at the Old Bailey, the defendant (DS) was unanimously acquitted of assaulting a prison officer at HMP Belmarsh in 2020.
The Crown alleged that DS had held his cell door closed, making it difficult for other prison officers to enter the cell, whilst his co-defendant (E) attacked a prison officer by repeatedly punching him, after luring him into the cell. DS was then alleged to have joined in on the attack.
