James Lofthouse secures plea in high profile case at Old Bailey

By January 4, 2019No Comments

James Lofthouse successfully prosecuted ASAP Bari, the US fashion entrepreneur and co-founder of rap collective, the ASAP Mob. The Defendant had privately instructed a QC to defend him. This was a case sparked by mobile phone footage of his sexual assault of the complainant going viral when posted on the internet by a rival. This was a case complicated by the complainant having launched a parallel million dollar lawsuit against the Defendant in the US. After James successfully resisted an earlier abuse of process argument, the Defendant entered a guilty plea at trial at the Old Bailey. The case attracted substantial press interest, both in the UK and abroad.

James was instructed by Elaine Cousins and Tanyia Dogra at CPS London.
