R v LF – Possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear – unanimous acquittal by jury.

 

Violence

R v H – s.20 GBH road rage incident with a crow bar

R v MB & others – Multi-handed s.18, threats to kill and criminal damage.

R v JB – Attempted murder

 

Domestic abuse

R v K – Aggravated stalking causing fear of violence

R v DR – Controlling and coercive behaviour with threat to rape, extensive gaslighting messages, victim forced to perform degrading acts

R v LB – ABH, strangulation and threats to kill – there was strong evidence of injuries but a plea was accepted on a reduced basis.

R v WP – Controlling and coercive behaviour (CCB), threatening with a blade in a private place – Admissions made in interview but a plea was accepted to CCB only on a reduced basis and the defendant received a suspended sentence

R v B – Attempted arson and criminal damage being reckless as to life being endangered, in which defendant poured petrol through his ex’s letter box while she slept upstairs
