Anoushka Twining secures acquittal for two clients charged with public order offences in a large violent disorder between Luton Town FC fans and Reading FC fans.

Anoushka Twining, instructed by Robert Perkins of Football Law Associates, successfully applied to exclude core identification evidence at trial, resulting in the Crown having to offer no evidence against two clients, Mr Poulton and Mr Drummond.

The two young men were said to have been involved in a large violent disorder on 7 May 2022 in which 27 individuals were identified by police. Operation Digital sought to identify the individuals involved, largely through media appeals, and resulted in a variety of public order and assault charges being laid against those identified.

In successfully opposing the admission of the identification evidence, the two young Luton Town FC fans retained their good character and continue to be able to attend football games, supporting their team both home and away.
