This case concerned two attacks, hours apart. The first one involved an attempt to invade the victim’s mum’s home to attack him with machetes, swords and poles. The second happened hours later in a nearby location where the second victim was caught alone in the street, surrounded by armed gang members and repeatedly attacked with weapons. They filmed these attacks and uploaded footage of what they’d done (where the attackers faces were not shown). This victim suffered severe blood loss from the multiple wounds he received in this attack.
Multiple witnesses called police but refused to make statements out of fear. The case was prosecuted with eye-witness evidence and limited forensics.
Other participants remain wanted by police. Sentence to follow at a later date.
