The defendant was accused of being one of four suspects who participated in a commercial burglary at a Big Yellow Storage unit in June 2022, in which hundreds of boxes of vapes were loaded into two vans. CCTV captured the defendant inside and outside of the facility loading the boxes. The defendant’s case was that he did not knowingly participate in the burglary and had no intention to steal. The co-defendant pleaded guilty to the burglary.
The jury unanimously acquitted the defendant after just one hour of deliberating, preserving the defendant’s good character.
