Dominic Benthall’s client was a pre-eminent figure in the world of academia, accused of possessing a number of IIOC on two computer devices. Through detailed cross-examination of the prosecution’s forensic computing expert, Dominic was able to demonstrate that the Crown could not prove that his client was in possession of these images.
Dominic submitted that there was no case for his client to answer. The CPS offered no evidence on day 3 of the trial and Dominic’s client was acquitted.
