Dominic Benthall secures acquittal for defendant in 140kg cocaine importation
Dominic’s client was a Dutch national accused of knowingly importing cocaine with a street value of £11m through Port of Dover. He was a truck driver working for his nephew’s transportation firm, and the cocaine was concealed within a custom-built compartment under the trailer. Dominic’s client maintained that he had not known the cocaine was hidden there, and the jury found him not guilty in 30 minutes.
Dominic Benthall was instructed by Mony Lam, of Lam & Meerabux.
