Kyri Argyropoulos defends solicitor accused of injecting blood into supermarket food.

LE was accused of 3 counts of Contaminating Food under s38(1) of the Public Order Act.  LE visited branches of Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose supermarkets on Fulham Palace Road and injected a number of food items with liquids including his own blood before being arrested.  2 consultant psychiatrists testified to him suffering from an acute psychotic episode at the time.

The jury found in the defendant’s favour and returned the unusual verdict of Not Guilty by reason of insanity.

Counsel was instructed by Donna Tayo of Powell Spencer & Partners.
