The case centred on evidence obtained by law enforcement agencies’ successfully accessing the EncroChat network as part of ‘Operation Venetic’. The crowns case was that FY was responsible for distributing AND collecting large amounts of class A drugs (in excess of 100 kilos) from around the United Kingdom.
The defence carefully drafted a basis of plea which the crown accepted. This included representations that his conduct was consistent with those who fall within the lessor role category.
