Nicholas Cooper successfully prosecuted defendant facing s.20 inflicting grievous bodily harm charges.
The case revolved around a domestic dispute where the cousin of the former partner of the defendant was attacked, when he stepped in to protect his cousin from abuse and violence.
The injury caused was a fracture to the right eye socket and the eye ball became trapped in the fracture. The victim was forced to fight back , despite serious failing of his vision and the injuries to the defendant resulted from him defending himself.
