Rory Field secures acquittal after successful no case to answer submission on s.2 Sexual Offences Act Case

Rory Field instructed by Kelsey Thompson of Andrew Storch Solicitors secured an acquittal of a defendant accused of digital rape. After 5 days of prosecution evidence, where the complainant gave live link evidence from Canada, Rory argued there was no case to answer on the single count.  The submission was based on careful and detailed cross examination of extensive messages and on comparison between the messages and the ABE interview, which showed serious discrepancies in the prosecution case.  The cross examination was made possible following a successful section 41 YJCEA application arguing other sexual behaviour could be adduced. A not guilty verdict was returned by the jury at Reading Crown Court.
