Successful conviction of offender for Perverting the Course of Justice following year-long campaign of false allegations.

By May 25, 2022No Comments

Stuart Dingle has secured the conviction of the defendant for making false allegations amounting to perverting the course of justice, in a case which provides a chilling example of the need for robust representation for people accused of crimes. The defendant in this case had fabricated a series of letters and emails purportedly from an 17-18 year old man threatening her with physical and sexual violence. The allegations resulted in his arrest and a period of imprisonment and other restrictions on his liberty before the truth of the allegations was revealed by forensic and ANPR investigations.

False allegation cases like this highlight the need for a system which provides representation for all, and stands as a reminder of the vital importance that impartial and properly-funded investigators, litigators and advocates have in protecting the basic liberties of our society.
