An argument ensued over a minor road incident between the occupants of a vehicle and the Defendant and his wife who were cycling down a narrow lane. The Defendant strangled the female driver and then punched her in the face, resulting in the complainant sustaining a broken jaw. The complainant had to undergo surgery (to fit titanium plates), dental work and was caused permanent nerve damage.
Chloe advanced mitigation on the Defendant’s behalf, resulting in him receiving a sentence of 16 months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months with a rehabilitation activity requirement, unpaid work and compensation.
Chloe was instructed by David Smith of Frame Smith Solicitors.
