Following a two-week trial at St Albans Crown Court Nicholas Evans secured the acquittal of his client charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent, possessing a samurai sword, and s.18 causing grievous bodily harm within intent. Having returned unanimous verdicts on the those counts the jury could not decide on two counts of robbery. Having been invited to consider a retrial the CPS decided not to proceed on the counts of robbery, and conspiracy to rob. Verdicts of not guilty entered.
The evidence in the case consisted of CCTV footage, fingerprint evidence and first-hand complainant’s testimony.
