Patrick Maggs, instructed by Oya Suleyman of EBR Attridge Solicitors, secured the acquittal of their client, who was charged with kidnap and false imprisonment.
Operation Tapir was a Police investigation focused on kidnap and false imprisonment offences which happened in May 2024. Due to the defendant being forensically linked to the cable ties used in the abduction, and having telephone cell site data linking him to the locations in question, he was arrested and proceeded to trial.
Thanks to the robust representation of the defence team, this defendant was the only one who was acquitted following a 5 week trial at Kingston Crown Court.
