Ruby Selva secured a suspended sentence for her Client who had been accused of grooming vigilantes posing as young girls on line. The sentencing guidelines are such that her Client should have received a substantial custodial sentence however, Ruby persuaded the Judge that her Client’s mitigation: what caused him to offend, the actions of the vigilantes, her Clients own personal issues and his health, his lack of risk to society to include children, was such that a suspended sentence was the only just sentence in the circumstances.
