Every year the AWB hosts its pupillage advice clinic just in time for aspiring barristers to submit their applications. This year Chloe Ashley – who is currently undertaking a 12 month pupillage under the supervision of Timothy Banks – has been invited to speak about her experiences as a pupil at the Criminal Bar. The advice clinic is to be held on 24 Jan 2017 at the Bar Council offices from 6:30pm-8pm. The evening will comprise of a talk from a panel, which includes speakers at various levels and in different practice areas: Bridget Dolan QC of Serjeants’ Inn Chambers; Emma Waldron of 3PB Chambers; Hannah Burton of Furnival Chambers along with representatives from the employed bar.
Topics to be discussed by the panel will include what is looked for in pupillage applications and interviews, top tips for surviving pupillage and what it is like to practice in the speakers’ respective fields.
AWB also offers applicants the chance to to get advice on their applications by having them reviewed by a practitioner or pupil.
All are welcome to attend regardless of sex or gender.
