Tim Banks, instructed by Martin Murray & Associates, represented RS, a wealthy 79 year old man charged with historical sexual offences. His stepdaughter and stepson accused him of systematically abusing them over a 3 year period when they were children. The stepson also accused him of attempted buggery.
The jury at Reading Crown Court acquitted on all counts.
The case involved difficult factual issues relating to inheritance, the stepdaughters separate allegations for sexual assault against her grandfather, and the male conplainant’s criminal history.
In addition complex legal issues were raised relating to cross-admissibility.
Tim Banks has substantial experience defending in cases of sexual assault.
